Job Summary

Hardware Design Engineer


Responsibilities

  1. Analyze project requirements and select suitable hardware components that align with performance and budget goals.
  2. Design, develop, and optimize

    Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs)

    using tools such as

    Altium Designer, KiCad, or Eagle

    .
  3. Develop analog and digital circuit schematics, ensuring signal integrity, power efficiency, and thermal stability.
  4. Collaborate with embedded software and firmware teams for seamless integration of hardware with

    microcontrollers and embedded systems

    .
  5. Perform hardware testing, validation, and debugging to ensure high reliability and performance.
  6. Ensure designs comply with industry standards and manage the

    compliance testing

    process (e.g.,

    FCC, CE

    ).
  7. Document hardware specifications, design decisions, and test results to support production and continuous improvement.
  8. Operate in a

    fast-paced startup or SME environment

    , contributing actively to iterative development cycles.


Desired Candidate Profile

  1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in

    Electronics, Electrical Engineering

    , or a related field.
  2. 2–4 years

    of experience in hardware design and development.
  3. Proficiency in PCB design tools:

    Altium Designer, KiCad, or Eagle

    .
  4. Strong foundation in

    analog and digital circuit design

    .
  5. Familiarity with

    signal integrity, power management

    , and

    thermal considerations

    .
  6. Experience working with

    microcontroller architectures and embedded systems

    .
  7. Knowledge of

    compliance standards

    and testing methods (e.g.,

    FCC, CE

    ).
  8. Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
  9. Excellent communication and team collaboration abilities.
  10. Prior experience in

    startups or SMEs

    is a strong plus.


Core Technical Skills

  1. PCB Design Tools:

    Altium Designer (preferred), KiCad, Eagle
  2. Circuit Design & Analysis:

    Analog circuit design (filters, amplifiers, power supplies, etc.), Digital circuit design (MCUs, logic gates, communication interfaces)
  3. Schematic Capture & Layout:

    Multi-layer board design, Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Assembly (DFA) best practices
  4. Simulation & Analysis Tools

    (optional but valuable): LTspice, PSpice for circuit simulation, Signal integrity/power integrity tools like HyperLynx or SiSoft


Testing & Debugging

Hands-on experience with: Oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, function generators, Debugging tools (e.g., JTAG, SWD)


Power & Thermal Management

  1. Power supply design (buck/boost converters, LDOs)
  2. Thermal design considerations in PCB and system-level


Compliance & Standards

  1. EMI/EMC testing procedures,
  2. Regulatory standards:

    FCC, CE, RoHS, ISO


Soft Skills & Work Approach

  1. Ability to interpret datasheets and technical documentation
  2. Cross-functional collaboration (working with firmware/software teams)
  3. Agile and iterative prototyping mindset
  4. Prior experience working in

    startups or fast-paced SME environments
