Product Manager – Oncology (PMT)


Department: Marketing / Product Management Team


Reporting To: Head – Marketing / Business Unit Head (Oncology)


Role Overview


The Product Manager – Oncology will be responsible for driving the brand strategy, lifecycle management, and marketing initiatives of oncology products. The role demands strong therapeutic knowledge, strategic planning, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure business growth and market leadership in the oncology segment.


Key Responsibilities


Strategic Planning & Brand Management

Develop, implement, and monitor marketing strategies for assigned oncology brands.

Conduct product positioning, lifecycle management, and brand-building activities.

Design annual brand plans including sales targets, promotional strategies, and medical initiatives.


Market Research & Analysis


Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer insights.

Identify new opportunities and potential gaps in the oncology portfolio.

Provide inputs for pipeline products and business development.

Promotional & Marketing Activities

Develop promotional materials (visual aids, LBLs, digital content, CME kits, etc.).

Plan and execute scientific events, KOL (Key Opinion Leader) engagements, and medical conferences.

Coordinate digital marketing campaigns and innovative engagement models for oncologists.

Sales & Field Force Support

Train and support the field force with scientific updates, product knowledge, and promotional strategies.

Monitor brand performance and provide regular feedback to sales teams.

Conduct cycle meetings, workshops, and field visits

Cross-functional Coordination

Collaborate with Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Supply Chain, and Clinical teams.

Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines, ethical promotion, and pharmacovigilance requirements.

In-depth knowledge of oncology therapy area.

Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.

Proficiency in MS Office and digital marketing tools.


Qualifications & Experience


Education: B. Pharm / M. Pharm / B.Sc. (Life Sciences) with MBA (Marketing) preferred.

Experience: 3–7 years of product management experience in the pharma industry, with at least 2–3 years in Oncology segment.

  • Strong KOL network and prior exposure to oncology launches will be an added advantage.
