Geotechnical Engineer

JOB SUMMARY:

The Geotechnical Engineer will specialize in analyzing soil, rock, and underground conditions to guide the design and construction of infrastructure projects.

The role involves help is conducting site investigations, designing foundation systems, and providing solutions for geotechnical challenges.

The engineer will ensure project safety, compliance with regulations, and alignment with sustainability and engineering best practices.

• Conduct and understand field investigations, including soil sampling, drilling, and geotechnical testing.
• Analyze geotechnical data to assess ground conditions and prepare site characterization reports.
• Design foundations, retaining walls, slope stabilization, and other geotechnical structures.
• Perform stability and settlement analyses.
• Prepare and interpret detailed geotechnical reports, including recommendations for construction and design.
• Communicate findings effectively to clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with geotechnical specifications.
• Provide technical solutions for on-site challenges, such as unexpected soil or groundwater conditions.
• Ensure designs and construction methods comply with local, national, and international codes and standards.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of geotechnical regulations and advancements.
• Evaluate geohazards such as landslides, earthquakes, and soil liquefaction, and propose mitigation strategies.
• Assist in developing contingency plans to address potential geotechnical risks.
• Promote sustainable practices by optimizing material use and minimizing environmental impact.
• Collaborate with civil, structural, and environmental engineers to integrate geotechnical solutions into project designs.
• Mentor junior engineers and support their professional development.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS & KNOWLEDGE:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or Geotechnical Engineering (Master’s preferred).

• 10-12 years of experience in geotechnical analysis, design, and construction support.
