Role Summary:

We are looking for a Gallery Manager at Nature Morte, Dhan Mill Compound, New Delhi, who will play a central role in managing day-to-day gallery operations, driving sales, and creating engaging programming to increase visitor engagement and footfall. This role involves overseeing exhibitions, leading client relations, coordinating with artists and curators, and ensuring smooth operational management while maintaining high curatorial and presentation standards.


Key Responsibilities


1. Sales & Client Relations:

  • Lead all art sales efforts, including cultivating new collectors and maintaining relationships with existing clients.
  • Achieve monthly and annual sales targets.
  • Manage client communications, proposals, invoicing, and follow-up to ensure a seamless sales experience.
  • Coordinate with the gallery team to create compelling sales strategies.


2. Programming & Audience Development:

  • Conceptualize and implement a year-round calendar of exhibitions, talks, workshops, and special events aligned with the gallery’s vision.
  • Partner with artists, curators, cultural organizations, and local businesses to design programs that attract diverse audiences.
  • Devise innovative strategies such as guided walkthroughs, open studios, and collaborations to increase visitor traffic and broaden the gallery’s reach.


3. Gallery Operations & Administration:

  • Oversee daily gallery operations, including scheduling, maintenance, and compliance with health and safety requirements.
  • Supervise installation and de-installation of exhibitions, ensuring high curatorial and presentation standards.
  • Track and analyze visitor data and event attendance to refine operational and programming strategies.


4. Marketing & Representation:

  • Represent the gallery at industry events, art fairs, and networking functions.
  • Collaborate with communications teams to promote exhibitions and events, ensuring high visitor engagement.


Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Fine Arts, Art History, Arts Management, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in galleries, museums, art fairs, or cultural management.
  • Strong understanding of contemporary art, gallery practices, and curatorial processes.
  • Proven ability to lead sales initiatives and develop creative programming.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects, client relationships, and follow-ups.
  • A genuine interest in contemporary art and sensitivity to artists’ and clients’ needs.


Work Schedule:

  • Six (6) days per week, with Monday as the regular weekly day off.
  • Hours: 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM, with flexibility required during exhibition openings, special events, and art fairs.
