Job Title: Gallery Manager

Location: Dhan Mill, New Delhi

Reporting to: Associate Director – Sales

Role Overview

The Gallery Manager will be responsible for the overall functioning and representation of Nature Morte’s Delhi space. This role combines exhibition management, client servicing, team supervision, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will be an organized, confident, and art-aware individual who can independently manage the gallery’s day-to-day activities while aligning with the broader strategic goals of Nature Morte.

Key Responsibilities

Gallery Operations & Administration

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the Delhi gallery, ensuring the space is always visitor ready.
• Coordinate with the Delhi team for artwork logistics, display, maintenance, and documentation.
• Oversee gallery upkeep, security, and facility management.

Exhibition Management

• Plan and execute exhibitions in coordination with the curatorial and design teams.
• Manage timelines for installs/deinstalls, artwork transport, and vendor coordination.
• Supervise artwork condition reporting and storage.

Client & Visitor Engagement

• Welcome and engage visitors, collectors, curators, and other stakeholders.
• Represent the gallery at openings, talks, and events; assist with client viewings and queries.
• Maintain visitor records and share insights with the sales and communications teams.

Sales & Reporting Support

• Support the sales team by facilitating client viewings, sending artwork information, and coordinating sales documentation.
• Liaise with the Delhi team for invoicing, logistics, and delivery coordination.
• Maintain accurate inventory and sales records for the Delhi gallery.

Team & Vendor Management

• Manage local support staff (installers, security, housekeeping) and external vendors.
• Ensure smooth coordination with transporters, framers, event vendors, and other service providers.

Goals of the role:

• Build sales - by harvesting existing clients, cultivating new clients of Nature Morte
• Spread the Nature Morte motto- Leading India through Art & Leading Art through India 

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Art History, Fine Arts, Arts Management, Business, or a related field.
• 4–6 years of relevant experience in galleries, museums, art fairs, or the cultural sector.
• Strong understanding of contemporary art and gallery practices.
• Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills.
• Professional demeanor with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with inventory and project management tools is a plus.

Work Schedule:

• Six (6) days per week, with Monday as the regular weekly day off.
• Hours: 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM, with flexibility required during exhibition openings, special events, and art fairs.
