Air FreightWe are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Manager / Manager Air Freight to lead and manage day-to-day operations in air freight.The ideal candidate should have a strong background in air cargo management, pricing, customer service, and team collaboration.This role requires strategic thinking, operational efficiency, and strong relationship-building skills with carriers and clients.

Key Responsibilities (KRAs)

  • Lead and oversee air freight import and export operations ensuring timely and cost-effective shipment handling.
  • Develop and execute strategies to enhance air freight volumes, profitability, and customer service levels.
  • Negotiate air freight rates and space allocation with airlines and maintain long-term carrier relationships.
  • Manage air freight pricing including procurement, client quotations, and profitability tracking.
  • Collaborate with internal pricing teams and global partners to ensure competitive and accurate rate offerings.
  • Identify potential business opportunities and support sales teams in acquiring and retaining key clients.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with IATA regulations, customs laws, and relevant government guidelines.
  • Resolve operational issues, handle escalations, and ensure a high standard of customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare and analyze performance reports, KPIs, and provide insights to management for strategic decision-making.
  • Stay updated with market trends, competitor strategies, and airline schedules to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Coordinate with sales, customer service, and operations teams to ensure seamless shipment execution.

Required Skillsets

  • Strong knowledge of international air freight operations, including import/export documentation and customs clearance.
  • Proven experience in pricing, rate negotiation, and airline relationship management.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Sound understanding of IATA and DG regulations.
  • Proficient in using freight forwarding software and Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for coordination with internal teams, carriers, and clients.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's/Bachelors degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or a related field.
  • Certification in air cargo or IATA courses is a plus
