Full Stack Engineer

Position:

Marsh McLennan

This position will be responsible for developing complex solutions to support and enhance Torrent’s flood insurance solution software. This includes design, code, code reviews and unit testing. They are required to have solid knowledge on Industry standards and patterns in a Microsoft development environment. They will have an expertise in testing the product for functionality and errors, while ensuring that user needs, performance requirements and security standards are met. For this position, they are expected to have senior level skills in full-stack development and have an excellent understanding of Agile methodologies. The developer makes an impact as a seasoned, professional individual contributor, ready to manage projects, work independently, help teammates thrive and collaborate with stakeholders across the company.

In this role you will be responsible for:

• Complex application development using Microsoft software technologies
• Active participation in technical design and review
• Writes complex software programs according to requirements defined by the Product Owner
• Creates and maintains all unit tests in support of development changes
• Integrates technical components into an existing web application
• Works closely with Quality Assurance Analysts to ensure code quality
• Reviews security scans and works with other developers to correct
• Works with technical staff to understand problems with software and develops solutions to resolve them
• Resolves customer issues with software and responds to suggestions for improvements and enhancements
• Strong system analysis and debugging skills
• Perform under minimal supervision and peer accountability on complex assignments
• Innovate design and development solutions to various and shifting requirements defined by external entities
• Accurately estimate work efforts and requirements
• Create and maintain design documents as a part of software delivery lifecycle process
• Enforce coding standards and participates in peer code reviews
• Solid experience with AWS Microservices architecture and development
• Documentation. Document code, designs and test procedures
• Mentorship. Provide guidance and support to Junior Developers, sharing knowledge and best practices

What you need to have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field. Master's or advanced education in a related field preferred
• 5+ years of relevant experience
• Expertise in C#, ASP.NET, ASP.NET Core, Vue.js, MVC/MVVM, TFS, Visual Studio, SQL, React JS, Angular
• Database Technologies: SQL, MS SQL Server, Relational Databases
• HTML, JavaScript, TypeScript, Backbone.js, Foundation.js, JQuery, CSS, LESS, JSON
• Experience with Web Services, SOAP, SAML, Postman, nUnit, etc
• Good understanding of OOPS Concept, software development principles, design patterns and best practices
• Excellent programming attitude on data structures and algorithms
• Excellent understanding of database, schema designing and hands-on complex SQL queries
• Excellent problem-solving abilities to diagnose and resolve issues
• Insurance/Finance experience is essential
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders
• Ability to multi-task and liaise with multiple stakeholders
• Ability to identify process improvement opportunities
• Adaptability to change
• Agile delivery experience for large platforms
• Knowledge of processes & development best practices
• Perform code reviews and ensure quality in all deliverables.
• Should be able to respond to technical queries / requests from team members and customers
