Job Description

Job Post: Full-Stack Developer (Healthcare Software)

Location: Work from Office
Employment Type: Based on performance

About the Project

We’re building a next-generation healthcare software solution for long-term care teams. Our platform helps staff efficiently document resident behaviors and instantly view meaningful trends—supporting better clinical decisions and improving workflows.

We integrate with leading EMRs using modern healthcare standards (FHIR/HL7, SMART-on-FHIR) and follow privacy by design principles (PHIA, PIPEDA).

We’re looking for a hands-on full-stack developer who can translate complex healthcare workflows into simple, secure, and high-performing applications.

Your Responsibilities

  • Develop Core Features: Build end-to-end workflows, including real-time dashboards, and exportable summaries.
  • Implement Role-Based Access: Tailored dashboards for staff, clinicians, and decision-makers.
  • Ensure Security & Compliance: Apply RBAC, MFA, encryption, audit trails, and data minimization.
  • Integrate with EMRs: Build FHIR/HL7 adapters for EMR platforms like EPIC, Oracle Cerner, and PointClickCare.
  • Deliver High Performance: Build real-time APIs, WebSockets/SSE, accessible UIs (WCAG), and automated CI/CD pipelines.

What We’re Looking For (Must-Haves)

  • Full-Stack Experience: 3–6+ years building and shipping production web apps.
  • Frontend: Strong with React + TypeScript (or similar). Skilled in reusable components, forms, and accessibility.
  • Backend: Proficiency in Node.js (TypeScript) or Java/.NET 8. Strong API development (REST/GraphQL).
  • Databases: Experience with PostgreSQL (schema design, queries, indexes, migrations). Time-series DB experience is a plus.
  • Real-Time Systems: Knowledge of WebSockets/SSE for live updates.
  • Security & Privacy: OAuth2/OIDC, MFA, secure session handling, healthcare data compliance (PHIA, PIPEDA).
  • DevOps Basics: Docker, CI/CD (GitHub Actions), cloud environments (AWS/Azure Canada).

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience with FHIR R4 and SMART-on-FHIR standards.
  • Exposure to healthcare IT (EHR/EMR integrations).
  • Experience with Kubernetes fundamentals.

Our Tech Stack

  • Frontend: React + TypeScript, Playwright (E2E tests)
  • Backend: Node.js (TypeScript) / Java / .NET; REST & GraphQL
  • Data: PostgreSQL (TimescaleDB optional), Redis
  • Interop: FHIR R4 (HAPI FHIR), SMART-on-FHIR, EMR sandboxes
  • Infra: Docker, GitHub Actions, cloud in Canadian regions
  • Security: OAuth2/OIDC, MFA, encryption, audit logging

Why Join Us?

  • Impactful Work: Direct contribution to improving healthcare workflows.
  • Culture: Respectful, collaborative, and calm environment.
  • Growth: Work alongside clinical advisors and healthcare experts.
  • Flexibility: We provide flexible options for our talent.
