About the Role We are looking for an experienced and performance-driven General Manager - Production to head operations at our 300 Tons Maize Starch Plant in Manglapuram, Namakkal . This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing all plant operations, including the Mechanical, Electrical, and Process departments, while ensuring high standards in production efficiency, quality, and safety. Industry: Chemical / Food Processing Reporting To: Director and Management Team Key Responsibilities Oversee and manage the end-to-end operations of the maize starch production facility. Lead multidisciplinary teams, including Mechanical, Electrical, and Process Engineering departments. Ensure adherence to daily production targets, safety regulations, quality parameters, and efficiency standards. Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, energy efficiency, and cost optimization Coordinate closely with the Director and Management team on plant strategy, performance metrics, and resource planning. Maintain strict compliance with environmental, safety, and industry-specific regulatory norms. Mentor and guide department heads and managers for effective team and performance management. Troubleshoot production challenges and implement preventive and corrective actions. Required Qualifications & Experience B.Tech / B.E in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering . Minimum 10–15 years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role in a manufacturing plant. Prior experience in maize starch or modified starch manufacturing is strongly preferred. In-depth understanding of starch processing equipment, plant utilities, and production operations. Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams. Language Requirements Tamil – Compulsory English - Proficient Preferred Candidate Profile Candidates with experience in Maize Starch units or Food/Chemical process industries . Job description: He/Her should be able to generate General Assembly drawings, Manufacturing drawings, Detail Drawings, and Visualize the concept. Prepare detailed working diagrams/PID of mechanical devices including dimensions, and other engineering information. Develop detailed design drawings and specifications for mechanical equipment, using drafting CAD equipment. Review and analyse specifications, sketches, drawings ideas, and related data to access factors affecting component designs and the procedures and instructions to be followed. Preparing drawings in AutoCAD and Equivalent Platforms. Modify and revise designs to correct operating shortages and reduce production problems. An innovative mind is certainly a plus point. Required Candidate Profile AutoCAD/Any 3D Software Tool, Auto Desk Inventor / AutoCAD 3D. Experience 2 to 4 years. Preferable experience in special purpose machine and robotics Design.
