Role Overview

FPO Operations Associate

If you enjoy working closely with farmers, understand rural dynamics, and can drive structured implementation on ground, this role fits you.

Key Responsibilities

1. Land Mapping & Farmer Data Capture

• Conduct field visits to map farms using mobile/GPS tools.
• Collect accurate farmer, plot, and crop information.
• Ensure completeness and quality of geo-tagged data.

2. Soil Testing & Crop Management Support

• Coordinate soil sample collection; ensure proper handling and dispatch to labs.
• Maintain records of reports and create awareness on soil-health improvements.
• Assist FPOs in implementing basic crop-advisory or corrective actions.

3. Supporting Transition to Natural / Regenerative / Organic Agriculture

• Mobilize farmers to adopt reduced-chemical or organic practices.
• Conduct village/FPO meetings and trainings with support from agronomy team.
• Track adoption progress and document outcomes.

4. FPO Partnership Execution

• Work with FPO leadership and field staff to implement program milestones.
• Monitor day-to-day field activities and ensure adherence to timelines.
• Build trust and long-term relationships with communities.

5. Reporting & Coordination

• Maintain digital and physical records of all activities.
• Share weekly reports, field insights, and risks with the TopCrop central team.
• Support audits, surveys, and data-verification processes as needed.

What We’re Looking For

• Graduate in Agriculture / Rural Development / Social Work OR strong field experience.
• 0–3 years of on-ground experience with FPOs, NGOs, agri-input companies, or government-linked projects.
• Ability to work extensively in villages, travel across clusters, and manage field teams.
• Strong communication in local language (Odia preferred).
• Comfortable with smartphone-based data collection tools, WhatsApp coordination, and basic Excel.

Contract Details

• Role Type:

  Contract/Full-time (6–12 months, renewable based on performance).

• Compensation:

  Competitive field-based package + travel allowance.

• Work Mode:

  Fully on-ground; extensive field travel within assigned district(s).
