Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Food Technologist to join our R&D team at our corporate office. The ideal candidate will play a key role in developing, testing, and optimizing food products tailored for airline catering, ensuring high standards of taste, safety, nutrition, and compliance with aviation and food regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Development:

  • Innovate and develop new food products suitable for in-flight catering, considering altitude-related taste changes, shelf life, and packaging constraints.
  • Reformulate existing recipes to improve quality, cost-efficiency, and sustainability.
  • Sensory & Quality Evaluation:

  • Conduct sensory evaluations and shelf-life studies.
  • Ensure consistency in taste, texture, and appearance across batches.
  • Technical Documentation:

  • Prepare and maintain product specifications, process flow charts, and technical data sheets.
  • Document trials, results, and improvements.
  • Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure all products comply with food safety standards (FSSAI, HACCP, ISO, airline-specific regulations).
  • Collaborate with QA/QC teams to ensure hygiene and safety protocols are met.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with chefs, procurement, logistics, and airline clients to align product development with operational feasibility and customer expectations.
  • Support training and onboarding of kitchen staff for new product rollouts.
  • Innovation & Trends:

  • Stay updated with global food trends, especially in aviation catering.
  • Explore sustainable ingredients, packaging, and cooking technologies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Technology, Food Science, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in food product development, preferably in airline catering or large-scale food production.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety standards and regulatory frameworks.
  • Excellent analytical, sensory, and documentation skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and food formulation software.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with altitude taste profiling and thermal processing.
  • Knowledge of international airline catering standards.
  • Creative mindset with a passion for culinary innovation.
