Job Description

Job Title: Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Location: Puducherry Reports to: Managing Director / CEO Department: Finance & Accounts Position Summary: The CFO will lead the financial strategy, planning, and management of the company involved in highway and infrastructure construction projects. The role requires deep industry knowledge, especially in project-based financial structuring, government contracting, compliance, and cost control. The CFO will play a key role in financial risk management, capital allocation, and supporting long-term growth. Key Responsibilities: Develop financial strategies aligned with long-term infrastructure project goals. Oversee project budgeting, costing, financial forecasting, and variance analysis. Manage cash flow to meet construction project timelines and milestones. Handle financial reporting and ensure compliance with government and regulatory norms (e.g., MoRTH, NHAI, GST, etc.). Supervise contract structuring, billing (RA bills), claims, and collections from government clients or concessionaires. Collaborate with project managers to monitor and control construction costs. Lead interactions with banks and financial institutions for funding, guarantees, and working capital. Manage audits, taxation, and statutory filings. Optimize ERP implementation and financial systems relevant to construction accounting. Lead and mentor finance, accounts, and procurement audit teams. Qualifications: CA/CPA/MBA in Finance or equivalent 10+ years of senior financial leadership experience in infrastructure or construction industry Proven track record in managing large-scale projects and EPC contracts Knowledge of government contract compliance, project finance, and arbitration Excellent analytical, negotiation, and leadership skills Familiarity with construction-specific ERP (e.g., Tally ERP, SAP, zoho Books or others) Preferred Experience: Experience with BOT/PPP projects or HAM model projects Exposure to working with NHAI, MoRTH, or state PWD projects M&A or joint venture experience in infrastructure.
