Key Roles & Responsibilities of a Factory Manager (EV Company)1. Production Management

• Oversee daily manufacturing activities of electric vehicles, batteries, or components.
• Ensure production targets are met within timelines and budget.
• Implement lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.

2. Quality Control & Assurance

• Maintain high-quality standards for vehicles and components.
• Ensure compliance with national and international EV quality and safety norms (e.g., AIS, BIS).
• Handle root cause analysis and corrective action for defects or failures.

3. Team & Workforce Management

• Supervise and coordinate staff, technicians, and engineers on the factory floor.
• Conduct training on safety, process updates, and technology.
• Motivate and maintain a disciplined and productive workforce.

4. Supply Chain & Inventory Coordination

• Work with procurement and logistics teams to manage raw material inflow and finished product outflow.
• Minimize production downtime by ensuring availability of critical parts like motors, controllers, and battery packs.

5. Equipment & Maintenance

• Oversee preventive maintenance of machines, tools, and production lines.
• Ensure all factory equipment meets operational and safety standards.

6. Regulatory Compliance & Safety

• Ensure all operations comply with environmental, labor, and safety regulations.
• Promote factory safety through audits, inspections, and staff awareness.

7. Cost Control & Budgeting

• Monitor production costs and optimize operational efficiency.
• Prepare reports on production costs, wastage, efficiency, and downtime.

8. Technology & Automation

• Introduce automation, robotics, and smart manufacturing in EV assembly or battery lines.
• Stay updated on new manufacturing trends in EVs and implement relevant changes.

9. Coordination with R&D and Management

• Liaise with R&D teams for prototype production and new product launches.
• Report performance updates to senior management with data-backed analysis.
