Factory Manager

1. Production Management

• Plan, organize, and monitor production schedules to meet targets.
• Ensure efficient use of manpower, materials, and machinery.
• Monitor output to match quality and quantity standards.
• Minimize downtime and ensure smooth workflow across departments.

2. Quality Assurance

• Implement and oversee quality control systems.
• Ensure products meet customer specifications and compliance standards.
• Address quality issues with root-cause analysis and corrective action.
• Coordinate with QA/QC teams and buyers for audits and approvals.

3. Cost and Efficiency Control

• Reduce wastage and control operational costs.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as cost per unit, machine efficiency, and rework/rejection rate.
• Drive lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen, 5S, etc.).

4. Manpower Management

• Supervise and guide production staff, supervisors, and floor in-charges.
• Approve manpower planning, shifts, and absenteeism control.
• Conduct regular reviews, motivation sessions, and team performance analysis.
• Ensure training and development programs are conducted.

5. Compliance & Safety

• Ensure compliance with labor laws, fire safety, EHS (Environment, Health & Safety), and statutory norms.
• Conduct safety drills, audits, and ensure use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
• Address and investigate incidents/accidents on the shop floor.

6. Maintenance Coordination

• Oversee preventive and breakdown maintenance of machines and utilities.
• Coordinate with engineering and maintenance departments.
• Approve maintenance schedules and monitor machine uptime.

7. Inventory and Material Management

• Monitor raw material availability and usage.
• Ensure timely consumption reporting and wastage control.
• Coordinate with the stores and purchase departments for seamless material flow.

8. Reporting & Documentation

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production reports.
• Analyze production data and provide insights to management.
• Maintain documentation related to compliance, audits, and performance.

9. Interdepartmental Coordination

• Work closely with Planning, Merchandising, HR, Maintenance, QA, and other departments.
• Participate in cross-functional meetings and ensure alignment on goals.
• Solve bottlenecks or inter-department conflicts.
