Factory Manager

Objective of the role:

The Factory Manager will oversee daily operations, ensuring efficient production, high-quality standards, and a safe work environment. This includes responsibilities include optimizing processes, managing resources, controlling costs, and leading the team to achieve operational goals. The manager will also ensure compliance with safety regulations, foster a collaborative culture, and drive continuous improvement and innovation in manufacturing practices. Effective communication with stakeholders and timely reporting on performance metrics are essential to this role.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Oversee and manage production operations:

Process:

· Manage the entire production process from raw material procurement to finished product

· Ensure production targets are met within the specified timelines

· Implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs)

Manpower management:

· Ensure that the plant has enough manpower to cover the shift.

· Develop work schedules & assign tasks to ensure efficient work flow

· Manage the shortage of workforce and conflict among them

· Training new staff

Quality Control

· Monitor the raw materials and semifinished goods to ensure their quality

· Ensure the quality of finished goods that leaves the factory into the store

· If there are defects take necessary actions and report to the director

Safety Management

· Ensure the workplace is safe and secure

· Conduct a weekly monitoring to check whether the emergency exit, fire extinguishers and first aid kits are in working conditions

· Ensure that all the employees attend the yearly fire and safety certification classes

Oversee Inventory Management

· Manage inventory level of raw materials and compounds

· Coordinate with the directors for timely delivery of materials

· Always maintain the record of real time physical stock that has been came in and gone out from the store

Equipment maintenance

· Ensure all the machinery including the press, the mill and other equipment are properly maintained and operational.

· Contact the mechanic and oversee the maintenance.

Reporting and documentation

· Maintain records of production activities and prepare regular reports for senior management

· Collect reports from all floor managers and report it to senior management.

Education:

Graduation or Post graduation in any degree

Experience:

· For graduates- 7+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in rubber industry

· For post graduates- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing environment in rubber industry

· Prior experience in a Supervisory or managerial role for 2+ years
