Factory Manager – CURA HOMERole Overview
The Factory Manager will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations at the Cherthala factory. This includes production planning, manpower management, quality control, machine utilization (CNC, spray booths, polishing, assembly), and ensuring timely delivery of furniture as per CURA HOME’s design and quality standards. The role combines leadership, technical knowledge, and operational discipline.
Key Responsibilities1. Production Planning & Control
- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly production schedules based on sales orders and architect/project requirements.
- Allocate work to departments (wood machining, CNC routing, assembly, polishing, upholstery, weaving, finishing).
- Monitor workflow and balance load across machines and manpower.
- Ensure optimal utilization of materials and reduce wastage.
2. Operations & Process Management
- Supervise CNC operations, polishing, staining, finishing, and final assembly.
- Implement lean manufacturing practices to reduce idle time and improve throughput.
- Monitor preventive maintenance schedules for machinery (CNC routers, compressors, spray booths, etc.).
- Enforce factory SOPs, safety standards, and cleanliness.
3. Manpower & Team Supervision
- Lead and manage carpenters, polishers, upholsterers, weavers, helpers, and machine operators.
- Allocate shifts, track attendance, and ensure productivity.
- Train workers on new joinery, finishing, and quality techniques.
- Resolve conflicts and maintain discipline on the shop floor.
4. Quality Control & Assurance
- Check product dimensions, finish, and workmanship against approved spec sheets.
- Work with Quality Control executive to reject/rework non-conforming products before dispatch.
- Ensure stain shades, upholstery stitching, weaving, and polishing match design samples.
- Maintain production records and QC reports for each batch.
5. Coordination & Reporting
- Coordinate with Design Team for technical drawings and BOM.
- Coordinate with Purchase/Accounts for raw material availability and vendor issues.
- Coordinate with Sales & Project Teams for delivery timelines.
- Submit daily/weekly production reports, highlighting output, delays, and issues.
6. Cost & Efficiency Management
- Monitor material consumption vs. BOM to control wastage.
- Track labour hours vs. standard times to ensure efficiency.
- Suggest process/machine improvements to reduce costs and increase throughput.
7. Compliance & Safety
- Enforce health & safety regulations in carpentry, polishing, and spray areas.
- Conduct periodic fire/safety drills.
- Ensure factory meets statutory labour and environmental compliances.
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum 8–12 years of experience in furniture manufacturing, with at least 3 years in a supervisory/manager role.
- Technical background (Diploma/B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, or Wood Technology preferred).
- Knowledge of CNC machining, wood joinery, polishing techniques, upholstery, and finishing.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and time management skills.
- Familiarity with ERP/production software (Odoo, SAP, or similar) is a plus.
- This role is hands-on: the Factory Manager must walk the shop floor daily, solve problems immediately, and ensure products leave the factory with CURA HOME’s luxury quality standards.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
