Job Description

Role Overview:

The Export Tea Manager is responsible for managing and growing the company’s international tea business by driving export sales, developing overseas markets, and ensuring smooth execution of export orders. The role involves end-to-end ownership of export operations including buyer management, pricing, quality coordination, documentation, logistics, and compliance with international trade regulations.

The Export Tea Manager works closely with production, quality, logistics, finance, and marketing teams to ensure timely shipments, customer satisfaction, and sustainable profitability while maintaining the company’s brand reputation in global markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual export sales targets.
  • Develop and expand export markets in and outside India
  • Increase order volume, repeat business, and average realization per kg.
  • Identify new buyers, distributors, and importers globally..
  • Maintain strong relationships with international buyers and agents.
  • Handle buyer inquiries, negotiations, and price finalization.
  • Ensure correct documentation: Invoice, Packing, FSSAI, etc.
  • Coordinate with factories, warehouses, CHA, shipping lines.
  • Ensure tea quality meets buyer specifications and international standards.
  • Track global tea market trends, competitor pricing, and demand patterns.
  • Identify export risks related to quality, payment, logistics, and compliance.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and statutory export regulations.

Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field preferred.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of tea export procedures and global trade practices
  • In-depth knowledge of tea types (CTC, Orthodox, Green, Specialty teas)
  • Knowledge of origins, grades, seasonal variations, and pricing trends
  • Strong negotiation and contract finalization skills
  • Client acquisition and retention expertise
  • Ability to analyze global tea market trends and competitor pricing
  • Export costing and profitability analysis
