Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Estimation Engineer / Executive to join our pre-construction and tendering team. The ideal candidate will have strong commercial understanding, technical knowledge of interior execution, and the ability to represent Grace in client meetings and project pitches. This role plays a critical part in securing new projects and ensuring accurate project costing, planning, and coordination.

Key Responsibilities

1. Tendering & Estimation

Study drawings, BOQs, specifications, and tender documents thoroughly.

Prepare detailed BOQ take-offs, quantity calculations, and rate analysis.

Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to obtain accurate material and execution rates.

Prepare cost sheets, pricing summaries, and commercial proposals.

Ensure estimates align with project scope, site conditions, and execution methodology.

2. Client Coordination & Negotiation

Attend client pitch meetings, technical presentations, and commercial discussions.

Represent Grace professionally and confidently during project briefings.

Support the team in rate negotiations, clarifying cost assumptions and value propositions.

Prepare tender clarifications, RFI logs, and deviation statements as needed.

3. Project Planning & Scheduling

Assist in developing preliminary project schedules, resource requirement plans, and manpower deployment strategies.

Coordinate with project managers to understand execution sequences for accurate costing.

Identify long-lead materials, critical activities, and potential risks that influence pricing.

4. Site Coordination & Scope Understanding

Conduct site visits to assess project conditions, constraints, and complexities.

Evaluate site readiness, access, and technical feasibility during pre-construction.

Provide inputs on buildability, installation methodologies, and optimization of costs.

5. Technical & Commercial Expertise

Apply strong technical knowledge of joinery, finishes, MEP interfaces, and fit-out methods.

Use commercial acumen to interpret contracts, exclusions, and risk factors.

Benchmark pricing from past projects and maintain a structured costing database.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Competence

Strong understanding of interior fit-out execution, especially high-end hospitality, residential, and commercial spaces.

Expertise in reading GFC drawings, tender packages, and technical specifications.

Advanced proficiency in:

MS Excel (cost sheets, formulas, data analysis)

AutoCAD

MS Office (PPT, Word)

Experience

Minimum 5–10 years of experience in estimation within interior contracting firms.

Mandatory exposure to turnkey interiors, joinery, finishes, and site execution.

Hospitality sector experience (hotels, resorts, premium guest rooms, public areas) is highly preferred.
