Facilities Engineering Manager
Job Description: Role OverviewThe Facilities Engineering Manager will lead the planning, implementation, and management of building systems and infrastructure to ensure optimal facility operations. This role is responsible for overseeing engineering functions across facilities while ensuring compliance with safety standards, sustainability goals, and operational efficiency.
Key ResponsibilitiesManage the engineering operations and maintenance of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire & life safety, and building automation systems
Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure reliable and efficient facility operations
Lead a team of facilities engineers, technicians, and contractors, providing guidance, training, and professional development
Create and manage annual operating and capital budgets for engineering functions
Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards
Develop and implement energy management strategies to improve efficiency and sustainability
Oversee facility improvement projects and equipment upgrades
Collaborate with other departments to resolve technical issues and support business continuity
Establish and maintain documentation for all building systems, equipment, and maintenance procedures
Respond to emergency situations and implement effective solutions
QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related field
7+ years of experience in facilities engineering with at least 3-5 years in a management role
Strong knowledge of building systems and operations (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.)
Experience with building management systems (BMS) and energy management
Proven leadership skills with ability to manage diverse teams
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Excellent project management and budgeting skills
Knowledge of relevant codes, regulations, and safety standards
Professional certifications such as FMP, CFM, PE, or CEM preferred
Experience with sustainability initiatives and green building practices
