Job Title: Engineering Manager (Operations, not R&D)

Location: Hyderabad
Reporting To: CEO / Co-Founder

Company Overview

TRIGeN DC (trigendc.com), an IIT Madras-incubated company and part of the Indus DC family, is a leading manufacturer of industrial heat pumps. Specializing in high-temperature solutions up to 120°C (with plans for 200°C), the company aims to reduce 50MT of CO₂ emissions and scale into a multi-billion-dollar enterprise within the decade.

Role Summary

The Engineering Manager will lead the production plant and drive operational excellence in manufacturing high-performance industrial heat pumps. This is a key leadership role focused on execution, team management, and continuous process improvement.

1. Skills & Qualifications

Educational Background:

  • B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Industrial, or related engineering fields.
  • Master’s in Engineering Management, Business Administration, or similar (preferred).

Experience:

  • 8–12 years in engineering management in manufacturing, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Hands-on expertise in:
  • Refrigeration/heating systems: heat pumps, VAMs, boilers.
  • Design of heat exchangers.
  • Exposure to project management and production planning.
  • Familiarity with latest technologies in heat transfer and energy systems.

Core Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer.
  • Leadership & team management.
  • Project management (Agile, Waterfall).
  • Lean Manufacturing & TQM.
  • Problem-solving with RCA/FMEA tools.
  • Excellent communication & stakeholder engagement.
  • Ownership mindset with execution focus.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Engineering Leadership:

  • Manage daily plant operations, ensuring quality and safety compliance.
  • Implement Lean principles to boost efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Maintain and evolve a learning database from field deployments.
  • Develop and lead root cause analysis (RCA), FMEA/DFMEA initiatives.
  • Support total quality management (TQM) and vendor development.

B. Project Management:

  • Lead end-to-end engineering projects aligned with customer requirements.
  • Define timelines, budgets, and resource plans; track milestones.
  • Deploy technology at customer sites; support breakdown resolutions.

C. Team Building:

  • Recruit, train, and mentor engineering staff.
  • Conduct evaluations; implement team improvement strategies.

D. Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Partner with R&D for product design and market feedback improvements.
  • Work with QA teams on developing and validating testing protocols.
