This role is for one of our clients Industry: Technology, Information and Media Seniority level: Mid-Senior level Min Experience: 5 years Location: Bengaluru JobType: full-time About The Role We are looking for a hands-on Electrical Maintenance Engineer to take ownership of maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing electrical infrastructure across our operational sites. If you have a strong command of industrial electrical systems and enjoy working in dynamic, field-based environments, this role offers both technical depth and cross-functional impact. This position requires regular travel (:60%) to our facilities, supporting on-site diagnostics, installations, and performance improvements. Key Responsibilities ⚡ Electrical System Maintenance & Troubleshooting Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance for electrical systems including motors, AC drives (VFDs), transformers, circuit breakers, and control panels . Quickly diagnose and resolve electrical faults, minimizing downtime and ensuring operational continuity. Maintain detailed logs and documentation of maintenance activities and fault history. 🛠️ Equipment Installation & Testing Lead or support installation and commissioning of switchgear, control panels , and other critical equipment. Supervise and verify electrical panel fabrication, wiring, and system integration based on technical drawings. 📐 System Design & Documentation Create and update Single Line Diagrams (SLDs) and electrical schematics to reflect system changes. Participate in the redesign and upgrade of existing systems to improve safety and efficiency. 🧠 Root Cause Analysis & Reliability Engineering Conduct structured investigations into equipment failures to identify root causes and implement long-term fixes. Collaborate with operations and reliability teams to reduce recurring issues and extend asset lifespan. 🧳 Field Readiness & Multi-Unit Support Provide on-site engineering support at various facilities, ensuring standardized maintenance practices across locations. Travel approximately 60% of the time to conduct audits, inspections, and hands-on technical interventions. 🛡️ Compliance & Safety Ensure all work complies with applicable electrical safety standards and site-specific protocols. Lead regular inspections to identify electrical risks and ensure proactive mitigation. What You’ll Bring ✅ Essential Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electrical & Electronics Engineering (BE/BTech). 5–8 years of experience in industrial electrical maintenance or related roles. Proven expertise in handling AC motors, VFDs, transformers, LT/HT panels, switchgear , and distribution boards. Strong working knowledge of electrical panel design, installation, testing, and commissioning . Proficiency with electrical diagrams, layouts, and troubleshooting tools. 🔧 Technical Skills Solid command of SLD design, load balancing, and protection systems . Familiarity with industry-standard tools for fault detection, thermography, and insulation testing . Strong troubleshooting ability in high-pressure operational environments. 💼 Soft Skills Strong communication and coordination abilities across maintenance, operations, and project teams. Ability to work independently in the field while adhering to safety and compliance norms. Analytical mindset with a focus on operational reliability and continuous improvement. Nice-to-Have Exposure to PLC/SCADA , automation systems, or industrial control technologies. Knowledge of energy efficiency optimization or power quality management .
