Role Summary:

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Electrical Engineer to manage the operations and maintenance of electrical systems across our university campus. The ideal candidate will ensure uninterrupted power supply, oversee preventive and corrective maintenance, and support infrastructure upgrades in alignment with campus development goals.


Roles & Responsibilities:


  • Ensure uninterrupted power supply through effective operation of the 33KV substation and JGC Polo Ground DG sets across campus facilities, including hostels and faculty housing.
  • Oversee the maintenance and servicing of HT/LT panels, DG sets, transformers, UPS systems, and elevators.
  • Manage Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMCs) and coordinate with vendors for timely renewals and service delivery.
  • Coordinate repair and maintenance of the 33KV overhead power lines and manage High-Speed Diesel (HSD) supply for DG operations.
  • Monitor monthly preventive maintenance (PPM) schedules, maintain operational checklists, and log breakdown reports and history cards.
  • Prepare Bill of Quantities (BOQs) and manage planning, execution, and supervision of electrical works for infrastructure upgrades and classroom renovations.
  • Oversee installation and commissioning of new electrical systems, including lifts and UPS setups (e.g., 220-seater classroom configurations).
  • Conduct snagging inspections and facilitate handover of new projects in collaboration with project teams and external agencies.
  • Generate and process monthly electrical consumption bills for faculty housing, hostels, commercial outlets, and third-party operators (e.g., Good Host).
  • Compile technical and financial data reports for submission to finance and management committees (GHS & JGU).
  • Validate measurements and process bills for AMC vendors and project contractors.
  • Participate in internal and external coordination meetings to support planning and operations.
  • Maintain daily operational logs, report summaries, and project status updates—particularly for SB-3, SB-4, and SB-5 blocks.


Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education:

    Diploma or B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience:

    Minimum 3–5 years in electrical operations & maintenance, preferably in campus/institutional or facility management settings.
  • Technical Skills:

    Knowledge of HT/LT systems, DG sets, UPS, transformer operations, and electrical billing systems.
