Job Description

Designation: EHS Manager

Department: Environment, Health & Safety (EHS)
Salary Range: ₹35,000 – ₹45,000 per month

Key Responsibilities:

1. Compliance & Regulatory Affairs

· Ensure full compliance with all applicable EHS laws, rules, and regulations (e.g., GPCB, CPCB, Factories Act, OSHA).

· Coordinate and prepare for inspections and audits by regulatory bodies such as Pollution Control Boards and Factory Inspectorates.

· Maintain and update all statutory registers, licenses, consents (CTO, CTE), and EHS documentation.

2. Safety Management

· Develop and implement site-specific safety protocols, SOPs, and risk mitigation plans.

· Conduct regular safety audits, hazard identifications (HAZID), and risk assessments (HIRA/JSA).

· Investigate incidents/accidents, prepare reports, identify root causes, and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).

3. Environmental Management

· Monitor and control emissions, effluents, waste generation, and disposal in line with legal norms.

· Ensure efficient functioning of ETP/CETP, scrubbers, dust collectors, and other pollution control equipment.

· Maintain all environmental monitoring records and coordinate with third-party labs for sampling & analysis.

4. Health & Occupational Hygiene

· Monitor and assess workplace exposure to hazardous substances and ensure medical surveillance of employees.

· Promote employee wellness through health checkups, first-aid preparedness, and hygiene standards.

5. Training & Awareness

· Organize regular training programs for employees, contractors, and visitors on safety practices, emergency preparedness, and PPE usage.

· Conduct mock drills for fire, chemical spills, and other emergencies in coordination with concerned departments.

6. Documentation & Reporting

· Maintain detailed records of incidents, inspections, audits, training sessions, and compliance reports.

· Prepare and submit EHS performance reports to management and regulatory bodies as required.

7. Team & Stakeholder Management

· Lead the EHS team and coordinate with all departments (operations, maintenance, HR, etc.) to ensure integrated safety practices.

· Foster a culture of safety and sustainability throughout the organization.

Key Skills & Competencies:

· In-depth knowledge of EHS regulations and best practices

· Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving abilities

· Excellent communication and leadership skills

· Proficiency in documentation and statutory compliance

Qualifications & Experience:

· Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Environmental Science / Chemistry / Industrial Safety / Engineering (preferred)

· Diploma in Industrial Safety (as per Factories Act norms)

· 5–7 years of experience in EHS management in manufacturing or process industry

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per year
