Assistant General Manager – Marketplace (Global)

This is a strategic and execution-driven role focused on revenue growth, operational excellence, and ensuring Angara’s premium brand positioning in each geography.


Key Responsibilities

1. Strategy & P&L Ownership

  • Develop and execute the global marketplace growth strategy across US, UK, DE, JP, CA, and AU.
  • Own end-to-end P&L for marketplace channels – revenue, margin, ad spends, returns, and commissions.
  • Identify and onboard new marketplace opportunities in key international markets.

2. Sales & Performance Management

  • Achieve quarterly and annual revenue targets through optimized listings, pricing, promotions, and inventory management.
  • Track daily performance metrics – GMV, ROAS, conversion, ASP, and contribution margins.
  • Manage marketplace marketing campaigns including sponsored ads, deal events, and visibility boosts.

3. Operations & Process Optimization

  • Ensure seamless catalog management, listings accuracy, and order fulfillment SLAs across geographies.
  • Coordinate with supply chain, merchandising, and logistics teams for stock availability and dispatch alignment.
  • Manage compliance and marketplace requirements per country (taxes, legal, product labeling, etc.).

4. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Digital Marketing, Pricing, Merchandising, and Creative teams to ensure aligned brand communication.
  • Partner with Technology teams for integration enhancements (APIs, dashboards, automation).
  • Liaise with Finance for reconciliations, payouts, and marketplace fee optimization.

5. Team & Vendor Management

  • Lead and mentor a global marketplace operations team.
  • Manage relationships with account managers and category teams across Amazon, Etsy, Rakuten, etc.

6. Market Intelligence & Analytics

  • Track competitor activity, marketplace trends, and pricing benchmarks globally.
  • Leverage analytics tools to derive insights for campaign optimization and assortment strategy.


The Ideal Candidate :

  • 8+ years of experience in

    marketplace or e-commerce operations

    , preferably with global exposure.
  • Proven success managing large-scale marketplace business across multiple geographies.
  • Strong understanding of Amazon ecosystem (Seller Central / Vendor Central) and other key marketplaces.
  • Analytical and data-driven mindset with experience in tools like Excel, Power BI, or Google Data Studio.
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Experience in jewelry, fashion, or premium consumer categories preferred.
