Role Synopsis: Director of Shared Services

Role Overview

Fundraising, Finance & Compliance, Human Resources, and Information Technology

Key Responsibilities

• Functional Oversight:

  Lead senior functional heads; ensure each domain meets its goals while supporting program delivery.

• Strategic Alignment:

  Drive cross-functional collaboration and synchronization for organizational efficiency.

• Board Coordination:

  Liaise with board committees overseeing specific functions; ensure delivery of board-identified initiatives.

• Technology Leadership:

  Guide IT strategy and execution in collaboration with the Head of IT and IT Advisory Group.

• Compliance Excellence:

  Develop and monitor a robust risk and compliance framework to uphold APD’s gold standard reputation.

• Strategic Planning Support:

  Assist CEO in developing and monitoring 3-year strategic plans, annual budgets, and MIS.

• Talent Development:

  Oversee organization-wide talent management including training, coaching, PMS, and succession planning.

Candidate Profile

• Education:

  Undergraduate degree required; postgraduate in business, HR, technology, or finance/CA preferred.

• Experience:

• 20+ years of work experience, including 10+ years in general management across multiple functions.
• Proven ability to lead senior domain experts and add strategic value.
• Experience in strategic planning and execution.
• Background in service-centric organizations with a strong focus on talent development.

Preferred Attributes

• Experience in large, reputable organizations with strong governance; NGO/development sector experience is desirable but not mandatory.
• Preference for

• Ideal for professionals in their mid to late fifties or early VRS, seeking a purpose-driven, high-impact role—not suited for passive retirement.

Budgeted Salary is 25-30 Lacs .
