Director of Technology

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

• Directs, leads, and manages the Pune Technology team engaged with multiple business verticals
• Lead and oversee the site’s software and firmware development teams, encouraging a culture of innovation and delivery
• Build and mentor a high-performance team of AI/ML professionals in alignment with Organization long-term plans
• Interact with Technology Leadership across Emerson to develop short term and long-term strategic plan.
• Contribute to the increase in the department’s value delivery through a combination of processes, personnel, and automation that drives improved productivity in the development of our products
• Participate in the definition of technical vision, strategy and roadmap, then implement them
• Ensure high performance and accountability through leading a multi-functional team comprising software development managers and ART leadership
• Cultivate an innovative environment that encourages openness, collaboration and professional growth
• Work with other department leaders to optimize team and cross-site performance
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and define outstanding processes
• Stay knowledgeable about tools, methods, relevant trends and technologies for software and firmware development
• Attract, develop and retain qualified and skilled staff and workforce. Mentor, coach, appraise employees and build a strong leadership team
  

Who Are You

For This Role, You Will Need:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or Computer Science, 20+ years of relevant experience
• 10+ years of leadership experience in software development, successfully leading multiple high-performing teams comprising 150+ software professionals in large-scale development environments
• Strong background in software development lifecycle, with deep understanding of technologies, tools, and processes across development, testing, and maintenance phases
• Exposure towards AI/ML technologies, frameworks, and industry trends
• Demonstrated abilities in leading and driving performance
• Excellent leadership, communication and partner management skills
• Strong background in Agile software development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, or other frameworks)
• Willingness and ability to work flexible hours to collaborate with both local and remote sites, including occasional domestic and international travels
  

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

• Knowledge or experience in the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) or other large-scale Agile frameworks
• Deep understanding of software architecture, embedded firmware development, DevOps, and CI/CD standard processes.
• Experience with AI/ML, IoT or edge computing in process control applications
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity and compliance in industrial software
• Experience with industrial automation products or technologies
