Job Description

Job Title: Director Ocean Services / Ocean Product Manager – Ocean (Export/Import)

Summary

You’ll lead and grow the Ocean product portfolio — driving operations, profitability, people, and customer experience. This role demands a strong balance of operational know-how, financial acumen, and leadership finesse. You’ll be responsible for strengthening the Ocean product in the market, ensuring operational excellence, financial control, and a motivated, high-performing team.


Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

  • Oversee all Ocean product operations (Export & Import) ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely execution.
  • Continuously improve productivity, system usage, and process efficiency.
  • Ensure adherence to operational performance standards and company SOPs.
  • Financial Ownership

    • Drive revenue growth and profitability in line with district and branch budgets.
    • Monitor P&L, control expenses, analyze customer profitability, and ensure clean financial reporting.
    • Review local charges, quotes, and billing to minimize potential losses.
  • Business Development

    • Partner with Sales teams to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
    • Support the onboarding and transition of new clients and business lines.
    • Stay on top of market trends and provide strategic input on pricing and service offerings.


    People Management

    • Lead, mentor, and develop the Ocean team through regular one-on-ones, feedback sessions, and performance appraisals.
    • Encourage continuous learning (52+ hours of annual training) and compliance to company culture and values.
    • Maintain effective communication across teams and foster a high-performance culture.


    Vendor & Stakeholder Management

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with shipping lines, trucking partners, and trade compliance teams.
    • Represent the Ocean product in internal meetings, client discussions, and industry networking events.


    What You’ll Bring

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field.
    • 7+ years of logistics or freight forwarding experience (with at least 3 years in a leadership role).
    • Proven expertise in Ocean Freight Operations (Export/Import).
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
    • Adaptable leader who can manage change and drive results.
