Job Description

The Director – Global Events & Championships is responsible for planning, directing, and delivering all international esports tournaments, leagues, and flagship championships under IFeS. This role ensures world-class event execution, operational excellence, athlete experience, and global standardization across all competitions. The Director will lead multi-country teams, manage large-scale event logistics, and uphold IFeS’s global competitive integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Event Planning

  • Develop the global annual events calendar, tournament formats, and championship frameworks.
  • Lead long-term planning for major esports events, world championships, and regional qualifiers.
  • Establish global standards, rules, and operating procedures for all IFeS competitions.

End-to-End Event Execution

  • Oversee all aspects of event operations including venue management, scheduling, production, player services, and logistics.
  • Ensure smooth execution of online and offline tournaments at international venues.
  • Coordinate event safety, risk management, and contingency planning.

Team & Stakeholder Management

  • Lead cross-functional teams including operations, technical, production, broadcast, and athlete relations.
  • Collaborate with national esports bodies, host cities, gaming publishers, sponsors, and strategic partners.
  • Supervise regional event managers and ensure operational consistency worldwide.

Technical & Production Oversight

  • Manage tournament platforms, gaming infrastructure, server reliability, and broadcast technical requirements.
  • Work closely with the technical operations team to ensure fair play, integrity systems, and flawless gameplay experience.

Budgeting & Vendor Management

  • Prepare and manage event budgets, contracts, and procurement for global events.
  • Negotiate with vendors, production houses, venue partners, and service providers.

Quality Assurance & Innovation

  • Ensure all events meet IFeS global quality standards and elevate the spectator and player experience.
  • Introduce innovative event formats, digital engagement elements, and global best practices.

Reporting & Performance Review

  • Prepare event reports, metrics, and improvement plans for the executive leadership.
  • Analyze event performance, audience engagement, and operational efficiency.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in sports management, event management, esports, or related field. Master’s preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience managing large-scale events, preferably international sports or esports tournaments.
  • Strong leadership, project management, and cross-cultural team management skills.
  • Deep understanding of esports ecosystems, tournament operations, and tech requirements.
  • Proven ability to handle multi-location operations, tight deadlines, and high-pressure environments.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Willingness to travel extensively for international events.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹600,000.00 - ₹800,000.00 per year
