We are seeking a visionary Director - Academics to lead our academic endeavours and ensure that our offerings are at the cutting edge of industry requirements. As the Director - Academics, you will play a pivotal role in setting the academic vision and direction of our institutes, overseeing curriculum development matching global standards, realigning the existing curriculum, introducing new courses and programs, and being overall in charge of academic administration across all the campuses in India. You will be responsible for shaping the educational journey of our students, equipping them with the knowledge and skills required to excel in the gems and jewellery sector.
· Define and implement the overarching academic vision aligned with institutional mission and industry expectations.
· Anticipate future trends in education and proactively shape academic strategies to stay ahead of the curve.
· Provide academic governance and policy direction across all campuses of IIGJ.
· Lead the development of cutting-edge, industry-aligned academic programs and qualifications at UG, PG, Diploma, and Certificate levels.
· Realign existing curricula to meet global standards and integrate emerging technologies such as CAD, AR/VR, and AI in jewellery design and manufacturing.
· Ensure academic offerings cater to the evolving needs of domestic and international markets.
· Oversee academic operations, including academic calendar management, timetabling, examination schedules, and academic audits.
· Ensure smooth execution of assessments, results, student records, and program documentation across campuses.
· Coordinate student support interventions to enhance academic outcomes and minimise dropouts.
· Lead recruitment, orientation, and performance management of academic and teaching staff.
· Promote faculty development through structured training, exposure to global best practices, and industry immersion.
· Encourage research, innovation, and collaborative learning among faculty teams.
· Establish and monitor academic quality standards across programs, pedagogy, assessments, and learning outcomes.
· Ensure alignment with UGC, NSQF, and other relevant national/international quality frameworks.
· Drive periodic academic reviews through structured feedback from students, alumni, industry, and faculty.
· Collaborate with top industry players to co-develop modules, internship programs, capstone projects, and masterclasses.
· Facilitate regular industry interactions, including seminars, exhibitions, factory visits, and global trend showcases.
· Ensure industry relevance of every program through continuous validation and feedback mechanisms.
· Enhance the employability of students by integrating career services, entrepreneurship modules, and skill-building workshops.
· Monitor student placement trends and alumni success to realign programs with job market needs.
· Promote international opportunities and certifications to broaden student career pathways.
• Represent IIGJ in academic forums, industry panels, and policy-level discussions on jewellery education.
• Encourage faculty and student research on design, gemology, craftsmanship, sustainability, and digital transformation.
• Act as a knowledge ambassador to promote IIGJ’s academic excellence nationally and globally.
