Qualification:
A bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field with experience of 10 - 12 years in the Electronics Industry.
Certifications:
Certifications in areas like inventory management, people management, or supply chain operations are preferred.
Roles And Responsibilities
Warehouse managers must possess the ability to communicate effectively with their team members, senior management, and other stakeholders. This includes clearly expressing expectations, giving and receiving feedback, strong leadership skills, effective communication, and resolving conflicts. Managing the daily operations of warehouse facilities involves overseeing the operations of the warehouse, such as receiving shipments of products and organizing them within the facility, and planning future improvements for the system. Must be able to stay organized, prioritize tasks, and schedule work to meet deadlines. Keeping detailed inventory and shipment records to ensure the warehouse runs smoothly is essential. It is critical to manage time effectively to complete tasks on time. Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and related software is highly valued. Experience working with electronics products, which have unique handling and storage requirements including static control and damage prevention, is advantageous. Familiarity with industry regulations and audit procedures, including FACE (Factory Acceptance Certification & Audit) processes, is required. Experience with different warehouse layouts and technologies, such as automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS), is a plus.
Warehouse Manager Responsibilities
- Inventory Management: The warehouse manager is responsible for managing inventory levels at the optimum level, ensuring stock counts are accurate, and planning efficient storage solutions to accommodate space utilization and maintain inventory accuracy.
- Logistics Coordination: Ensuring seamless operations within receiving, picking, packing, and shipping that will ensure the speedy movement of goods and shorter delay times.
- Team Leadership: Leading hiring, training, and managing staff in the warehouse, delegating duties, and creating a culture of teamwork and accountability.
- Safety and Compliance: The main duty here is to monitor safety compliance with the regulations, as well as the creation and implementation of protocols for managing, establishing safety compliance, implementing protective measures, and educating warehouse personnel about safety culture.
- Technology Integration: Implementing new technology, integrating advanced operating systems like WMS, QR Code / RFID scanning, and automation devices/robotics to gain an overview of processes, track inventory, and accelerate productivity.
- Customer Service: Collaborating with customer service teams to ensure correct and quick delivery of all ordered products, addressing queries and handling problems, and ensuring suitable customer satisfaction.
- Performance Monitoring: Analyzing key performance indicators (KPIs), such as order fulfillment rates and inventory turnover, to identify areas for improvement and drive operational excellence.
Skills And Qualities
- Organizational Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and maintain the associates of a warehouse, which is a dynamic environment.
- Communication: Written communication skills to deal with Project Managers and others inside the organization, suppliers, and other stakeholders, giving instructions and addressing their queries/clarifications instantly.
- Problem-Solving: Flexibility, quick thinking, problem-identifying, and problem-solving competence that, to a greater extent, involves workflow optimization or addressing logistic issues that vary from one place to another.
- Adaptability: Adjustability to dynamically flow, likely changing demand, or unexpected events within the supply chain.
- Leadership: Effective leadership characteristics to uplift and mobilize the teams, establish the right environment for consistent improvement, and maintain team unity towards goal attainment.
- Technical Proficiency: Warehouse management system experience, innate inventory control software skills, and general tech tool exposure with the PMR that result in smooth operations and increased productivity.
- Attention to Detail: Precision in shipping and handling is achieved through the tracking of inventory record accuracy during order fulfillment, management of regulatory standards, and the help of AI and automation.
- Space Utilization: To reduce transit times and delivery distances, multi-temperature warehouses, a system that accommodates loads of different sizes and product characteristics, are utilized.
- Customer Expectations: Achieving ever-increasing customer/project requirements for fast delivery options, superior order accuracy, and instantaneous information on inventory status.
- Equipment Operation: Ability to operate and maintain warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
