The Design Manager role within Prime Video's Global Shared Services (GSS) leads a dynamic team of visual designers responsible for creating and delivering high-volume digital assets for one of the world's premier entertainment brands. This position plays a crucial role in supporting Prime Video's diverse content portfolio, which includes award-winning originals like "The Boys," "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel," and blockbuster films such as "The Tomorrow War." The role demands a strategic leader who can maintain operational excellence while ensuring the team delivers high-quality creative assets that support Prime Video's multi-dimensional entertainment experience across global markets, platforms, and promotional campaigns.
Working within GSS's operationally-driven environment, this position requires a leader who can build and mentor high-performing design teams while collaborating with global stakeholders and external partners. The ideal candidate will combine strong design expertise with data-driven decision-making capabilities, implementing scalable processes and fostering innovation in a fast-paced, agile, multinational environment. This role is instrumental in establishing and maintaining design standards, optimizing workflow processes, and ensuring consistent brand representation across various touchpoints. The Design Manager will drive operational efficiencies while balancing creative excellence, meeting tight deadlines, and scaling design operations to support Prime Video's growing content library and expanding global presence.Key job responsibilities
  • Lead data-driven analysis, evaluate technology solutions, and oversee process improvement initiatives to achieve operational excellence
  • Manage comprehensive performance reviews and career development paths for a team of designers
  • Develop and execute strategic hiring initiatives to support design team growth objectives
  • Lead and empower a team of 15-20 designers, ensuring access to necessary information, tools, systems, and resources for optimal performance
  • Establish and maintain high-quality standards for recruitment and hiring processes
  • Define and manage individual and team performance expectations
  • Implement and oversee targeted coaching programs and team engagement initiatives
  • Develop coaching mechanisms and performance improvement plans for team members, while providing mentorship and guidance to achieve individual and team goals
  • Drive end-to-end talent management, including hiring decisions, onboarding processes, and continuous team development
  • Establish performance targets and maintain team accountability, while motivating team members to exceed expectations
  • Partner with resource planning and capacity teams to proactively identify and forecast resource requirements
  • Oversee administrative responsibilities including attendance monitoring, time tracking, performance management, and talent reviews
  • Conduct regular team meetings and one-on-one sessions with designers to ensure effective communication and design team effectiveness
  • Develop and maintain documentation for Weekly and Monthly Business Reviews

Basic Qualifications

  • * Bachelor's degree in related field (Design, Media Production, or equivalent)
  • * Data-driven decision making capabilities
  • * 6+ years of industry experience in visual design or creative disciplines
  • * 2+ years of people management or team lead experience
  • * Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • * English proficiency at B2 level (written and spoken)
  • * Experience in performance management and goal setting for creative teams
  • * Strong data analysis and data-driven decision-making abilities
  • * Experience in analyzing metrics and building analytical models to drive process improvements

Preferred Qualifications

  • * Experience in scaling creative operations and managing expansion initiatives
  • * Knowledge of agile methodologies and project management
  • * Demonstrated ability to hire, develop, and retain top talent
  • * Self-driven with excellent work prioritization and time management skills
  • * Experience in translating strategic vision into actionable plans

  • * Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence without direct authority
  • * Adaptable and thrives in dynamic, fast-paced environments
  • * Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities.
