Description
The role We are looking for a seasoned and forward-thinking Deputy Director, Finance to scale our finance function within a dynamic, multi-country ecommerce/travel business. This role encompasses ownership of business and operational performance, working closely with the Head of Finance and Co-Founders to drive financial planning, cost control, and long-term growth. You will oversee a growing internal team and manage external accounting, tax, and compliance partners across key international markets, including the US, UK, UAE, and India. A strong focus on automation and AI adoption is central to the role, with the expectation to integrate technology into daily finance operations to boost accuracy and efficiency. The ideal candidate should have experience managing multi-country operations, preferably with an accounting background and demonstrated "0 to 1" experience — having worked in a company that has scaled from inception to early growth. Key Responsibilities : § Financial Reporting: Lead the preparation and delivery of accurate and timely financial statements, including P&L, balance sheets, and cash flows, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards. § Budgeting & Forecasting: Own the budgeting and forecasting processes, aligning financial plans with strategic business objectives and market realities. § Internal Controls: Design, implement, and continuously enhance financial controls and risk management frameworks across all operational geographies. § Audit & Compliance: Manage relationships with external auditors and oversee smooth execution of annual audits. Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. § Tax & Transfer Pricing: Oversee global tax filings and reporting, while establishing and maintaining compliant and effective transfer pricing policies across entities. § AI & Automation Initiatives: Champion the adoption of AI-driven tools and process automation within the finance function to increase accuracy and efficiency. § ERP Ownership: Leverage Zoho Books and related tools to streamline financial processes; lead continuous system optimization efforts. § Cross-border Coordination: Collaborate with multiple external accounting agencies across the UK, UAE, USA, and other markets to ensure cohesive financial operations. § Leadership & Team Development: Manage and mentor a team of finance professionals.
