Role Overview

AIM Consulting is seeking a highly skilled Senior Consultant with deep experience in Data Engineering and Data Quality to join our growing India team. This role will focus on building, testing and optimizing modern, cloud-based data platforms using AWS, Snowflake, dbtCloud, Python, and SQL. The ideal candidate combines strong engineering discipline with hands-on experience implementing automated data quality frameworks and scalable ingestion pipelines in enterprise environments.

This position requires adaptability across multiple client environments and a passion for delivering high-quality, production-ready data solutions that balance engineering rigor with practical execution. As one of the early members of AIM India, you will play an integral role in shaping our Data & Analytics practice through project delivery, engineering excellence, collaboration with U.S.-based teams, and mentorship within our India office.

Project Delivery

As a Senior Consultant focused on Data Engineering and Data Quality, you will drive the successful implementation of cloud-based data solutions across AWS and Snowflake. You will work hands-on throughout the full lifecycle of delivery, translating requirements into technical designs, building ingestion and transformation pipelines, implementing data quality checks, and validating reliability through automated testing.

Your work will prioritize clarity, maintainability, and scalability. You will coordinate with product owners, analysts, and engineering partners to refine technical decisions, manage dependencies, and ensure successful sprint execution. You will proactively raise risks, communicate progress, and uphold AIM’s standards for disciplined, consistent, high-quality delivery.

Senior Consultants play a key role in strengthening our collective expertise by bringing insights from client engagements back to the broader team, sharing practical guidance, reusable patterns, and lessons learned.

You will support and mentor engineers within AIM India, helping establish strong delivery excellence and a consulting mindset across the team. You will participate in internal discussions, practice forums, and knowledge-sharing sessions that advance our Data Engineering and Data Quality capabilities. As one of the early members of AIM India, you will help shape a community that is tightly integrated with AIM’s global consulting organization.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize cloud-based data pipelines using AWS, Snowflake, dbtCloud, Python, and SQL.
• Implement ingestion frameworks that support scalable integration of data from enterprise systems (SAP, MES, Salesforce, etc.)
• Develop transformation logic and data models that support analytics, BI reporting, and downstream data products.
• Establish automated data quality and validation processes, including test suites that ensure reliability across the pipeline lifecycle.
• Troubleshoot and resolve pipeline issues, performing root-cause analysis and improving stability, performance, and maintainability.
• Document technical designs, data flows, and testing approaches with clarity appropriate for both technical and consulting audiences.
• Collaborate with product owners, analysts, and architecture teams to refine requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Participate in Agile delivery, including sprint planning, estimation, story refinement, and retrospectives.

Required Experience

• 8+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, delivering end-to-end pipeline development in cloud environments.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience validating and testing pipelines in AWS/Snowflake ecosystems.
• Strong experience with AWS data services (Glue, EMR, RDS, S3, IAM) and Snowflake.
• Practical experience with dbtCloud for modeling, transformations, and testing.
• High proficiency in Python and SQL for data processing and automation.
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments and collaborating with distributed/global teams.

Required Skills

• Ability to design and build scalable, cloud-based ELT/ETL pipelines.
• Skilled in implementing automated data quality checks and testing frameworks.
• Strong SQL fundamentals including performance tuning and debugging.
• Experience with data modeling and transformation patterns using dbtCloud.
• Familiarity with integrating pipelines into CI/CD workflows.

Desired Skills

• AWS Certifications (Solutions Architect, Data Engineer, Developer).
• Experience with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI).
• Exposure to SAP, MES, or supply chain/manufacturing data systems.
• Understanding of data governance and metadata management concepts.
• Experience in regulated environments (medical devices, healthcare, finance).
• Prior experience mentoring or supporting junior engineers.
• Background in global delivery models or nearshore/offshore collaboration.
