Job Description

As a Data Privacy and Controls Manager at Barclays, you will be responsible for providing Data Privacy advisory support across the UK Corporate Bank including Transaction Banking. You will work closely with the Head of Data Privacy, Data Privacy leads in each Business vertical, as well as CDO and other UK Corporate Bank Data stakeholders. Your role involves supporting the design and implementation of the Banks Data Privacy Framework, monitoring and reporting on the Banks adherence to its obligations, and acting as a point of contact with Data Protection Authorities (DPAs). **Key Responsibilities:** - Develop and maintain the Banks Data Privacy Framework, including policies, processes, and procedures. - Provide specialist support to Business Oversight Compliance teams in identifying and managing potential Data Privacy risks. - Co-ordinate responses to personal data breaches, including containment and remediation actions. - Manage Barclays relationship with DPAs, ensuring timely responses to regulatory complaints and investigations. - Collaborate with relevant Compliance teams and risk management functions to manage Compliance Risk. - Represent Barclays in key Data Privacy industry groups and associations. - Educate and raise awareness among employees on Data Privacy obligations and best practices. **Qualifications Required:** - At least 5 years of experience in data protection regulations, preferably in the financial services industry. - Clear understanding of data privacy obligations related to marketing privacy, surveillance, online privacy, and third-party issues. - Excellent business judgment, commercial acumen, and ability to work constructively across stakeholders. - Certifications in data privacy, legal, compliance, or information technology would be beneficial. - Professional Privacy Certification from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (e.g. CIPP/E) or equivalent preferred. - BCS qualification in Data Protection desirable. The job location for this role is Noida. In addition to the specific responsibilities and qualifications mentioned above, as an Assistant Vice President at Barclays, you will be expected to advise and influence decision making, contribute to policy development, and take responsibility for operational effectiveness. You will lead a team performing complex tasks, set objectives, and coach employees towards achieving those objectives.
