Job Title: Senior or Lead Data Engineer (Azure, Databricks, SQL, Python) â Data COE & Pre-Sales Support Location: Bangalore Experience: 8-12 years Employment Type: Full-time Job Overview: We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer with 8-12 years of experience to join our team and drive data architecture, pipeline development, and analytics solutions leveraging Azure, Databricks, SQL, and Python as the primary skills. In addition to technical responsibilities, this role will support pre-sales activities, engaging with clients to define solutions aligned with business needs. Key Responsibilities: Technical Responsibilities (Core Engineering) Design and implement data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and SQL for structured and semi-structured data. Optimize SQL queries and data models for high-performance analytics. Develop Python-based data automation scripts for transformation and integration workflows. Ensure data quality, integrity, and governance following best practices. Support Power BI teams with optimized data accessibility. Implement monitoring and performance tuning for scalability and reliability. Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions. Pre-Sales Responsibilities Act as a key contributor, driving best practices, frameworks, and reusable solutions for the organization. Support pre-sales engagements by assessing client data needs, crafting solution designs, and presenting technical proposals. Work with sales and consulting teams to define data architecture strategies for prospects and existing customers. Assist in proof-of-concept (PoC) implementations to showcase solution feasibility. Guide clients on Azure and Databricks adoption, ensuring alignment with business objectives. Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance solution offerings. Required Skills & Qualifications: 8-12 years of experience in data engineering or cloud data solutions. Strong expertise in Azure Data Services (Data Factory, Databricks, Storage). Advanced SQL skills for data transformation, modeling, and tuning. Hands-on experience with Python for data processing and automation. Understanding of Delta Lake and data governance concepts within Databricks. Exposure to Azure Purview for metadata management and security compliance. Experience working with stakeholders, sales teams, and clients in a consultative capacity. Preferred but Not Mandatory: Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric (but deep expertise is not required). Basic experience in Power BI, focusing on data refresh and optimization. Exposure to CI/CD practices for data pipelines. Show more Show less
