D61 - Product Engineer / Sr. Product Engineer - Mechanical (Quality related Engine Domain Exp)

Key Responsibilities

• Quality Initiatives: Participate quality improvement across product lines for HHP engines supplied for Project Business Application in India & Global regions , ensuring compliance with internal standards and customer requirements.
• Problem Solving: Independently lead root cause analysis and corrective action plans for field issues, warranty concerns, or internal defects using structured problem-solving tools (e.g., 7 Step problem Solving, FMEA, Fishbone etc).
• Design, Development & Part Drawing Release work : Have good understanding of data management system, Windchill , Client drawing release processes, DVP&R gateways to lead and deliver the drawing release work, Add/Omit parts from BOM, PPAP coordination etc.
• Supplier Quality: Engage with external suppliers to ensure part quality, conduct audits, and validate manufacturing processes : BDAP analysis, DVP&R Sign offs for parts needing D to P phase release, arranging right tool for Indian and Global Plants
• Data Analysis & Reporting: Monitor and report on quality metrics (AIS/BIS issue tracker to be reviewed on fortnightly bases, PPS project progress reviews, plant support, etc.), aligned to SLAs and KPIs.
• Customer Focus & Stakeholder connect across BU: Serve as a technical contact for customer quality concerns, warranty data analysis, and on-site issue resolution when needed for internal customers ( Customer Quality, DBU field service team, Application Engineers, Base engine team , PQC projects program managers etc)
• Continuous Improvement: Propose and implement systemic changes to improve product reliability, manufacturing consistency, and customer satisfaction. Lead and ensure implementation of effectivity in plant , GPRP closure of Step 7 of PPS projects
  

Skills And Experience Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering
• 3+ years of experience in quality engineering within an engine manufacturing, industrial engines or automotive environment.
• Deep understanding of quality standards.
• Familiarity with client products, processes, and supplier management practices.
• Must be able to collaborate globally and cross-functionally.

• Executes work under an agreed Statement of Work (SOW) with clear deliverables.
• Maintains responsibility for tools, intellectual property, and processes used to fulfill the contract.
