Job Description

Job Title:

Cyber Security Analyst

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor network and system activities to identify and respond to security threats.
Analyze and investigate potential security breaches, incidents, and anomalies.
Assist in implementing and maintaining security tools such as firewalls, SIEM, IDS/IPS, and antivirus solutions.
Conduct vulnerability assessments and support remediation efforts.
Support incident response planning and execution.
Assist in developing and enforcing security policies, standards, and best practices.
Stay updated on emerging cybersecurity threats and recommend preventive measures.
Prepare reports and documentation on security incidents and findings.

Required Skills & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
0–2 years of experience in cybersecurity or related IT roles (internships or academic projects acceptable).
Basic understanding of
network protocols, firewalls, and security principles
.
Familiarity with
SIEM tools
(e.g., Splunk, IBM QRadar, or similar).
Knowledge of
vulnerability assessment tools
(e.g., Nessus, Qualys, OpenVAS).
Understanding of
incident response and threat analysis processes
.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certifications such as
CompTIA Security+
,
CEH
, or
SOC Analyst
certification are a plus.
Experience with scripting (Python, PowerShell, or Bash) for security automation.
Familiarity with cloud security (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Knowledge of compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR).
Exposure to endpoint detection and response (EDR) tools.
