Inviting applications for the role of Consultant, Support Engineer
In this role, [As an L3 SQL and Application Support Engineer, you will be the final escalation point for complex technical issues related to SQL databases and enterprise applications. You will work closely with development, infrastructure, and L1/L2 support teams to ensure system stability, performance, and continuous improvement.]
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex application issues escalated from L1/L2 teams.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes (hotfixes or code changes).
- Collaborate with development teams to resolve software defects and performance bottlenecks.
- Monitor application logs, system-health, and performance metrics.
Qualifications we seek in you!
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, or related field.
- Experience with monitoring tools and incident management systems (e.g., ServiceNow).
Preferred Qualifications/ Skills
- Strong SQL Server expertise (T-SQL, indexing, performance tuning).
- Good to have hands-on in T-SQL.
- Experience with application support in enterprise environments.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
- Work on Service now request and incidents.
- ITIL overview and fundamentals.
- Good to have knowledge of tools like Spotlight, Jira, Microsoft report builder etc.
- Having knowledge of US Insurance Process and system can be beneficial.
SQL Database Support:
- Design and maintain database architecture and capacity planning.
- Optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and indexing strategies.
- Conduct T-SQL code reviews and performance tuning.
Application Support:
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex application issues escalated from L1/L2 teams.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes (hotfixes or code changes).
- Collaborate with development teams to resolve software defects and performance bottlenecks.
- Monitor application logs, system health, and performance metrics.
Collaboration & Leadership:
- Mentor and guide L1/L2 support engineers.
- Document solutions, SOPs, and RCA reports for knowledge sharing.
Proactive Maintenance & Innovation:
- Analyse trends in system performance and propose architectural improvements.
- Evaluate and recommend new tools and technologies for IT optimization.
