Job Description

ORF is seeking a Communications Associate, based out of Delhi, who will work closely with the Head of Communications to shape and strengthen the digital presence, support convenings and outreach events, and maintain the website of its centres. You’ll be part of a team amplifying critical policy conversations in global affairs. You’ll get hands-on experience in policy communications, digital storytelling, and international convenings, while working in a creative and collaborative environment.

Digital Media & Content Creation

  • Ideate and execute online social media campaigns to amplify research publications, convenings, and thought leadership that drives engagement.
  • Design and adapt communication materials across formats (carousel posts, snippets, graphics, reels, newsletters, videos) for multiple platforms — Instagram, LinkedIn, X, Facebook, YouTube.
  • Develop and maintain a weekly social media content calendar to ensure regular, high-quality posting.
  • Track and report monthly social media metrics; provide insights and recommendations for improving engagement and reach for specific channels.
  • Identify more new visual media platforms to highlight milestones, publications, outreach activities, and thought leadership.
  • Oversee website content management, suggest and implement UI/UX improvements to drive website traffic
  • Ensure content accuracy, grammatical quality, and alignment with ORF’s brand identity
  • Coordinate newsletter production (copy, layout, mailing lists, scheduling).

Event Outreach & Support

  • Develop and implement digital communication plans for pre- and post-event outreach campaigns.
  • Coordinate with design teams to ensure the timely delivery of creative collaterals for events.
  • Support teams in preparing event materials (concept notes, agendas, social media toolkits).
  • Facilitate internal coordination and provide on-ground communications support during events (live tweeting, coordination, social media updates).
  • Assist with photography, videography, and post-event content packaging.
  • Explore opportunities for cross-platform collaborations and partnerships to expand ORF’s visibility.

Qualifications & Requirements we seek:

  • Minimum 2-3 years of full-time experience working as a communications personnel.
  • Experience in dealing with a wide variety of stakeholders and vendors.
  • Knowledge of the policy/think tank space will be preferred.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills in English.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to build and maintain productive relationships internally and externally.
  • Capability to communicate complex ideas in everyday language.
  • Ability to meet stringent deadlines, manage multiple project deadlines.
  • Understanding of how events are organized and basic troubleshooting.
  • Basic familiarity with design software (Canva, WordPress, MS Suite, Photoshop, or other AV/ animation software) is required.
