Legal & Contractual Management
- Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize project agreements: EPC, design, consultancy, construction, supplier, subcontractor, joint venture, and partnership contracts.
- Ensure contracts comply with relevant legal, regulatory, and company standards.
- Monitor contract implementation and manage any amendments or variations.
Risk Management
- Identify and assess legal/commercial risks at every phase of the project—procurement, construction, commissioning, operation.
- Develop risk mitigation strategies and ensure timely escalation of issues where necessary.
Compliance
- Advise project teams on statutory and regulatory requirements relating to land acquisition, environmental impact, health & safety, procurement, and labor.
- Ensure project activities conform to both local and international legal obligations.
Dispute Resolution
- Lead pre-litigation case assessment, manage claims and variations, and liaise with external counsel in case of disputes, litigation, or arbitration.
- Support negotiations to resolve conflicts with clients, contractors, vendors, and regulatory agencies.
Stakeholder Advisory
- Serve as the main contact for legal and commercial advice to project directors/managers, finance, procurement, and engineering teams.
- Coordinate with government agencies, municipalities, and legal advisors.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain complete and organized records of all legal documents, contracts, and correspondences.
- Prepare regular legal risk assessments and compliance reports for the project leadership.
Policy & Governance
- Develop, update, and implement project-specific legal procedures and best practices.
- Deliver training to project teams on legal awareness and compliance standards as required.
Profile/Skills
- Minimum of 15 years of overall experience with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor's in law/commerce.
- Post Graduation in Law with specialization in construction engineering law and contracts.
- Large Infrastructure Project like, Smart Cities/Industrial town ships/Residential Townships/Hospitals/SEZ (Special Economic Zone/Public Buildings).
- Experience of working as Commercial Legal Manager on at least 1 large infrastructure project of value more than Rs.1000 crores.
