About This Role
We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer with hands-on experience in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), BigQuery, Datafusion, and SQL/PLSQL to join our Data & Analytics team supporting the Nucleus Portugal project. This permanent role is based in Pune, Bangalore, or Ahmedabad and involves designing, developing, and maintaining cloud-native data solutions. The ideal candidate will have 4–5 years of experience in data engineering and a strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and GCP components.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and optimise SQL and PL/SQL queries within GCP BigQuery.
- Build and maintain infrastructure using GCP services such as Cloud Functions, App Engine, and Cloud Run.
- Collaborate with data engineers to process large datasets using GCP tools including BigQuery and Cloud Storage.
- Ensure performance, security, and scalability best practices across cloud applications.
- Write unit tests and maintain documentation to support code quality and maintainability.
- Troubleshoot and debug cloud-based applications in production environments.
- Apply cloud-native development principles and data processing frameworks.
- Contribute to agile development practices including SCRUM and SAFe methodologies.
Who You Are
- A graduate or postgraduate in a technical stream (preferably Engineering).
- Minimum 4–5 years of relevant experience in data engineering.
- Proficient in SQL, PL/SQL, GCP BigQuery, Datafusion, and Python.
- Familiar with data warehousing concepts and GCP components.
- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal).
- Able to work collaboratively in a team and respond proactively to risks and issues.
