Cairn is committed to playing a lead role in the energy security of the country and geared up towards contributing to half of India’s crude production. In line with this strategic priority, we are looking for an experienced CHRO – East Coast to lead IR and Stakeholder Management for the Ravva site in Andhra Pradesh (S'Yanam). This role involves overseeing industrial relations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering relationships with stakeholders, including local communities and regulatory bodies.


Roles & Responsibilities:


Industrial Relations:

  • Manage union negotiations, labor disputes, and labor grievances.
  • Develop strategies to minimize industrial disputes and ensure smooth site operations.
  • Work with HR and operations to handle wage disputes and contractor relations.
  • Handle legal issues, including litigation and compliance violations, to protect the company’s interest.
  • Collaborate with the HSE team to enforce regulations, prevent incidents, and manage risks.
  • Address safety or environmental concerns to maintain stakeholder trust.


Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Build and maintain relationships with local communities, government agencies, and environmental groups.
  • Coordinate and support to align the CSR initiatives with community needs and company goals.
  • Engage proactively with stakeholders to prevent conflicts and secure support for site activities.
  • Monitor KPIs related to industrial relations and stakeholder management, providing updates to senior management.
  • Analyse data to identify risks and opportunities, adjusting strategies as needed.
  • Promote an inclusive work environment and address challenges to ensure workplace harmony.
  • Engage with local communities on land use, environmental impact, and resource allocation.
  • Develop crisis management plans and act as the primary contact for media and public relations.

Further, the role will also entail report and dashboarding for senior management, understand and implement the Vedanta Sustainability Assurance Process (VSAP) and Asset Optimization (AO) requirements, manage E-Enforcement tool, compliance reporting for operations units in fair and transparent manner, upkeeping the statutory documents and filling the returns appropriately on time.


Qualifications & Experience:


  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, Law, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
  • 12+ years of experience with minimum 8 years of experience in industrial relations, HR, or stakeholder management, preferably in the oil and gas sector.
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws, HSE regulations, and environmental compliance, with excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
