Chief of Staff - Program management

About the Role

We are seeking a strategic, execution-driven Chief of Staff to work directly with the leadership team to drive key business initiatives, streamline operations, and ensure alignment across departments. This is a high-impact leadership role that requires strong problem-solving, business acumen, and cross-functional program management abilities. You will act as a force multiplier for the leadership team—enabling faster decision-making, improving business efficiency, and executing critical growth projects end-to-end.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Alignment: Partner with the leadership team to prioritize and align software programs with long-term business goals and product strategy.

• Program Governance: Oversee planning, execution, and delivery of major software programs; implement governance processes, dashboards, risk tracking, and reporting mechanisms.

• Cross-Functional Leadership: Drive collaboration between software engineering, product management, QA, DevOps, and business stakeholders to ensure delivery efficiency.

• Execution Excellence: Monitor program milestones, sprint progress, dependencies, risks, and resource allocation to ensure programs are delivered on time and within budget.

• Operational Efficiency: Identify inefficiencies in the software development lifecycle (SDLC), implement process improvement strategies, and enhance delivery workflows.

• OKRs and KPIs: Define and track key program success metrics (velocity, predictability, quality score, capacity planning, release frequency).

• Technical Coordination: Provide oversight on architecture discussions, tech-debt prioritization, and release planning (in partnership with engineering leads).

• Communication & Reporting: Own executive-level reporting, project health reviews, program insights, risk escalations, and board-level presentations.

• Stakeholder Management: Serve as a key liaison between engineering leadership and internal/external stakeholders; ensure clarity of goals and decision-making.

• Special Projects: Lead high-impact initiatives (technology transformation, platform modernization, scaling programs, contractor/vendor management, org restructuring, etc.).

• Meeting Leadership: Structure and drive productive engineering leadership reviews, execution stand-ups, quarterly planning, roadmap reviews, and OKR sessions.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 8+ years of experience in Software Program Management / Engineering Program Management / Technical Project Leadership

• Proven experience leading enterprise-scale or multi-team software delivery programs

• Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile/Scrum/Kanban, CI/CD, DevOps practices

• Ability to build program governance frameworks and execution models

• Strong hands -aon exposure to program tracking tools: Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar

• Demonstrated ability to lead without authority and drive cross-functional alignment

• Experience in risk management, change management, and conflict resolution

• Excellent communication, executive presentation, and stakeholder management skills

• Strong analytical mindset and ability to solve complex delivery challenges

• Experience in SaaS, enterprise platforms, and cloud-based solutions preferred

Experience in Microsoft technologies like Power Apps/ Dynamics 365 will be an added advantage.
