Chief Accountant [India]

OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION:

• Build a corporate culture and work environment aligned with the Company's general orientation and regulations.
• Oversees and supports business units with Finance functions such as treasury, financial audits, general ledger management, accounts receivables, accounts payables, and financial statements preparation
• Bank administration for all banking functions, including payroll, vendor payment runs, bank transfers, and other manual payments.
• Proficiently use management system applications/tools (DOA, DataRoom, inventory software, compliance checklists, etc.).
• Communicate, guide, and monitor compliance with regulations, policies, and CNPQ.
• Address potential compliance issues proactively.
• Control payment documentation in accordance with legal regulations.
• Develop a structured and well-controlled accounting system.
• Prepare review reports to identify and prevent potential risks and losses for the Company.
• Prepare and file tax returns, ensure compliance with tax regulations and advise on related matters.
• Represent the Company in working with local government agencies regarding risks, compliance, accounting and tax matters.
• Review contracts concerning financial and accounting terms.
• Ensure financial statements and tax reports are prepared completely, accurately, on time, and in compliance with accounting standards, current regulations and reporting requirements.
• Provide information and reports as required by direct management.
• Conduct inspections to detect and prevent violations within the department.
• Oversees Finance and Accounts team members and ensures sufficient and qualified accounting manpower staffing.
• Create and review local accounting and/or finance – related processes and guidelines and in alignment with V-Green global finance and accounting standards.
• Organize competency assessments and screen managed employees.
• Develop employees and plan for succession as well as implementation of staff professional training.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by direct management.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree or higher, preferably in accounting, finance, economics, or auditing.
• Preferably a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Chief Accountant – related certificates such as ACCA, CFA, and certifications are an advantage.
• At least 8-10 years of related experience in accounting, auditing, or internal control, particularly in network development, construction, or Big 4 firms.
• Preferably with significant experience in setting up firms/ businesses.
• Proficiency in accounting software and financial analysis tools.
• Ability to establish an accounting system as well as form and manage a strong Accounts team.
• With relevant experience in filing tax compliance documents (income tax return, payroll tax, Fringe Benefits Tax, Sales tax, etc.)
• Capability to handle work pressure.
• High sense of responsibility, proactive, decisive, and prompt—demonstrating confidence and initiative in work while earning respect from colleagues.

• Willing to report 100% onsite from Monday to Saturday (twice a month).
