Job Description


Position: Chartered Accountant

Department: Finance & Accounts

Location: Ahmedabad

Reports to: CFO / Director

Employment Type: Full-time


Role Overview:-


The Chartered Accountant will oversee financial planning, project costing, budgeting, compliance, and financial reporting for construction projects. The role requires strong expertise in managing construction-specific accounting, contract billing, vendor payments, and financial control across multiple ongoing projects.


Key Responsibilities:-


1. Project Accounting & Cost Control

  • Maintain project-wise accounts, budgets, and cost allocations.
  • Track actual vs. budgeted project expenses and prepare variance reports.

Monitor cost overruns and coordinate with project managers for corrective action.

  • Ensure accurate recording of material consumption, subcontractor bills, and labor costs.


2. Billing, MIS & Financial Reporting


  • Prepare client bills (RA bills, milestone bills) and ensure timely certification.


  • Prepare monthly MIS, cash flow statements, and project profitability reports.


  • Consolidate financial statements for the company and individual projects.


  • Provide financial insights to management for decision-making.


3. Vendor Management & Payments


  • Verify subcontractor bills, work orders, and rate contracts.


  • Process vendor payments with proper documentation and reconciliation.


  • Manage accounts payable and receivable cycles effectively.


4. Compliance & Audit


  • Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, Income Tax, PF/ESI, and other statutory regulations.


  • Prepare and file monthly/quarterly/annual statutory returns.


  • Liaise with internal and external auditors for smooth audit processes.


  • Maintain proper documentation for RERA compliance (if applicable).


5. Budgeting & Financial Planning


  • Prepare annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and financial projections.


  • Support management in capital planning, equipment purchase decisions, and financial modelling.


6. Treasury & Cash Flow Management


  • Monitor site cash requirements and ensure optimal fund flow.


  • Coordinate with banks for fund management, BG/LC issuance, and loan documentation.


Skills & Qualifications:-


  • Must-Have


  • Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA).


  • 1–5+ years of experience

    (preferably in the construction/real estate/infra sector).


  • Strong knowledge of project accounting, GST, TDS, and financial reporting.


  • Expertise in MS Excel and accounting software (Tally ERP / SAP / ERP systems).


Preferred


  • Experience in contractor/subcontractor billing.


  • Understanding of construction contracts (BOQ, RA Bills, Work Orders).


  • Knowledge of RERA rules and project finance.
