Business Intelligence Consultant I

Role SummaryThe Business Intelligence Analyst will play a key role in developing automated solutions that integrate data from multiple sources. This includes leveraging Python for scripting and automation, working with APIs to retrieve and consolidate data, and building efficient workflows to support enterprise reporting. A strong emphasis will be placed on writing complex SQL queries, optimizing database performance, and designing ETL processes to ensure data integrity and scalability. The analyst will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and deliver robust, automated solutions that enable accurate and timely insights.

Key Responsibilities

• Integrate data from external sources via APIs to support reporting, automation, and application development.
• Develop automated solutions to streamline reporting, data extraction, and transformation processes using SQL and ETL tools.
• Support database optimization efforts, including SSIS-based workflows and automation of recurring data tasks.
• Contribute to backend development efforts by writing reusable, testable, and efficient code, and implementing performant applications.
• Ensure data integrity and accuracy by troubleshooting data quality issues and implementing validation protocols.
• Gather and analyze business requirements to support data-driven decision-making across departments.
• Design and develop scalable data models and pipelines that align with business objectives and reporting needs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for operational improvement through data insights and process automation.
• Build and maintain interactive dashboards and visualizations using BI tools to monitor performance and identify trends.
• Stay current with industry trends and best practices in business intelligence, analytics, and data engineering.
  

Skills And Tools Required

• Strong SQL experience, including writing complex queries for data extraction, transformation, and analysis across large datasets.
• Proficiency in Python for data manipulation, automation, and scripting tasks.
• Experience working with APIs, including data integration from external sources and automation of data flows.
• Experience developing applications within Docker containers to automate data extraction from complex software solutions.
• Advanced knowledge of data warehousing and database management, with hands-on experience in tools like SSIS, automation of data pipelines, and optimizing data architecture for scalability and performance.
• Familiarity with ETL processes and tools, with an emphasis on maintaining data integrity and operational efficiency.
• Hands-on experience with event resolution automation, including running remediation or information-gathering scripts and capturing metrics for reporting.
  

Skills And Tools Optional

• Experience with Power BI, Tableau or similar platforms is a plus.
• Basic understanding of statistical analysis and data modeling to support predictive insights and business forecasting.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and derive actionable insights.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
