Role and Profiles: COO and Business Head Insurance [General]

Exp: 20-25 Years

Location: Gurugram HR -Delhi NCR

Role Objective:

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute the

    company's long-term strategy to achieve growth, profitability, and market leadership.

  • Establish

    company goals, objectives, and key performance indicators (KPIs) in alignment with the Board of Directors.

  • Identify new market opportunities, innovative products, and potential partnerships to drive business expansion.

  • Develop and communicate the

    company's vision, mission, and strategic objectives driving transformational agenda.

  • Formulate and execute comprehensive business plans to achieve financial targets and market expansion.

Financial Management

  • Ensure financial discipline and a sustainable growth path by managing budgets, investments and capital allocation.

  • Supervise

    financial planning, reporting, and risk management, ensuring healthy profitability and cash flow.

  • Drive cost optimization strategies while maintaining operational excellence and product quality.

  • Market Positioning and Growth

  • Identify and capitalize on market opportunities

    to enhance the

    company's market share.

  • Foster relationships with

    key stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, to support business growth.

Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with all

    applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards in the operation of the business.

  • Oversee the companys risk management framework to identify and mitigate potential risks (market, operational, financial, etc.).

  • Maintain strong

    corporate governance practices in collaboration with the Board of Directors.

  • Stay abreast of

    industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks to make informed decisions.

Relationship Management

  • Build on

    existing strong engagements with intermediaries – Agents/Brokers/Banks

  • Nurture and develop

    corporate relationships to ensure client acquisition and business retention.

Operational Excellence

  • Streamline and enhance operational processes to ensure efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the organization.

Leadership & Team Management:

  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performance leadership team, promoting a culture of accountability, innovation, and excellence.
  • Foster a positive organizational culture, ensuring employee engagement, development, and retention.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, and provide coaching and development opportunities for key personnel.

Preferred candidate profile:

Educational Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent.
  • A background in Banking, Financial Services or Insurance Broking industry or related fields is preferred.

Core Experience

  • 15+ years of experience in the General Insurance/ Broking or related sectors.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior leadership role (CEO, COO, Business Head or equivalent
  • Proven experience in managing multi-functional teams, operations, finance, and stakeholder relationships in a competitive industry environment.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong leadership and decision-making capabilities with the ability to drive company vision and inspire teams.
  • Expertise in business strategy, operations management, and financial oversight.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Deep understanding of the chemical distribution industry, global supply chains, and market trends.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead transformational change and drive innovation.
