Orientation: 3-6 Months in Chennai

Job Title: Business Development Executive / Manager:

About the Role:

The Business Development Executive/Manager will be responsible for driving revenue growth through sponsor acquisition, delegate engagement, and strategic partnerships. The role requires strong relationship-building skills, market insight, and the ability to convert opportunities into long-term business value.

Qualifications & Skills

  • MBA in Sales & Marketing
  • 5–7 years of experience in business development, preferably in services marketing, fundraising, or sponsorships
  • Excellent communication, proposal writing, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Strong ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Willingness to travel extensively and work flexible hours as required

Preferred Experience

  • Proven experience in B2B sales
  • Exposure to digital and social media marketing

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Development & Lead Generation

  • Identify and acquire potential sponsors and delegates for CII events
  • Build and manage a strong sales pipeline through networking, cold calling, referrals, and digital outreach
  • Use digital and social media channels to generate and nurture leads

2. Client Relationship Management

  • Build, maintain, and strengthen long-term relationships with clients and key stakeholders
  • Act as the primary point of contact and liaison between clients and internal teams

3. Proposal Development & Deal Closure

  • Prepare customized proposals, presentations, and pitch documents
  • Lead commercial negotiations and close deals aligned with organizational objectives

4. Market Research & Strategic Inputs

  • Analyse market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments
  • Provide insights to enhance IL Services and identify new business opportunities

5. Internal Collaboration & Partnership Development

  • Work closely with Events, Marketing, and Communications teams to align business development activities
  • Support end-to-end event planning and execution
  • Develop and execute collaborative business models, partnerships, and joint ventures
