Job Description

Key Responsibilities

1. New Customer Acquisition

Identify, prospect, and generate leads for potential new clients in the following segments:

  • Modern Trade: National and regional supermarket/hypermarket chains not currently supplied by us.
  • HORECA (Hotels, Restaurants, Cafes): Approach establishments to supply packaged sweets for their menus, desserts, or gifting needs.
  • General Trade/Wholesalers: Target distributors and large wholesalers who can place bulk orders and supply to local sweet shops and kirana stores.
  • Corporate Sales: Identify opportunities for corporate gifting and canteen supplies.
  • E-commerce: Assist in onboarding with Quick Commerce and other online platforms.
  • Conduct cold calls, emails, and field visits to schedule meetings with decision-makers.
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of potential clients.

2. Sales Process Management

  • Manage the entire sales cycle from first contact to final order and handover to the Key Account team.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and product samples to potential clients.
  • Negotiate terms, pricing, and agreements within the authority limits provided by management.
  • Prepare and submit formal proposals and quotations.

3. Market Intelligence & Reporting

  • Conduct market research to identify new market trends, competitor activities, and potential opportunities.
  • Provide regular daily/weekly reports on sales activities, pipeline status, and market feedback using a CRM or simple tracking sheet.
  • Gather feedback from the market on product quality, packaging, and pricing to relay back to management.

4. Coordination & Support

  • Collaborate closely with the Key Account Executive to ensure a smooth transition of new accounts after the first order.
  • Coordinate with the logistics and production teams to ensure sample availability and feasibility of supplying new clients.
  • Participate in sales meetings and strategy sessions.

Requirements :

  • Any degree with minimum 3 years experience in packaged / ready to eat food segment
  • Experience in handling modern trade customers
  • Strong verbal and written communication skill in English and Tamil . Hindi will be added advantage
  • Minimum 20% travel is essential in short notice
