Business Development Executive – Job Description Overview

A Business Development Executive is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing relationships with prospective clients, and driving revenue growth. This role involves market research, lead generation, sales strategy development, and collaboration with internal teams to ensure successful deal closure and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and generate new business leads through networking, cold calling, email outreach, social media, and market research.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing clients.
  • Understand client needs and propose suitable products/services to address them.
  • Develop and present sales pitches, proposals, and business presentations.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to close deals effectively.
  • Collaborate with marketing, product, and operations teams to improve customer experience and support business growth.
  • Maintain an updated sales pipeline and provide regular reports on progress, forecasts, and KPIs.
  • Conduct market analysis to understand industry trends, competitors, and customer demands.
  • Participate in networking events, conferences, and industry exhibitions to expand business opportunities.
  • Ensure excellent post-sale support and relationship management to encourage repeat business.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or a similar role.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships.
  • Good understanding of sales principles and customer behavior.
  • Self-motivated, target-driven, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in CRM tools, MS Office, and digital communication platforms.

  • Experience in the relevant industry (FMCG)
  • Knowledge of marketing strategies and brand positioning.
